Plymouth Borough Dedicates Memorial

To Fallen Police Officers

On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, Mayor Frank Coughlin and members of Plymouth Borough Council, with the help of Scout Nathaniel Wren, were proud to honor the police officers of the Plymouth Borough Police Department who lost their lives while serving the citizens of Plymouth Borough. Officers Thomas Reese, James Price, and John LaBarr Peters now will never be forgotten for their supreme sacrifice in their service to Plymouth Borough with the dedication of this memorial in their honor located in front of the Plymouth Borough Building.

Nathaniel took on the project of creating a memorial monument to our fallen police officers as an Eagle Scout project. He raised all the funding for the monument on his own. He also helped by digging the trench, pouring the cement for the base of the monument, and finishing with the landscaping around the monument.

On hand to help Nathaniel unveil the memorial monument were former Chief of Police and current member of council John Thomas, former Chief of Police Myles Collins, and current Chief of Police Tony Gorey. Retired Plymouth Borough Police Officer Dave Jesso saluted the three fallen officers for their service. Also on hand were family members of Officer John LaBarr Peters.

Pennsylvania State Representative Gerald Mullery thanked Nathaniel for his hard work on the memorial monument and offered words of thanks for the service of the fallen Police Officers.

Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution placed flowers at the base of the monument.

Nathaniel was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Mayor Frank Coughlin and Plymouth Borough Council for all his hard work and dedication in bringing this special project to a successful completion.

Great Job Nathaniel!

Thank you Thomas Reese, James Price, and John LaBarr Peters for your service to our Borough!

May you rest in peace.
